Romans 4:1-3

Quick thought tonight: Abraham is one of the great heroes of the Bible—God used him in amazing ways, but none of the great things Abraham did justified him in any way. The Bible is very clear in both the Old and New Testaments that Abraham was right with God because of his faith. Because Abraham believed God, God counted him righteous.
What was true for Abraham is true for you. The way we live, the works we do are not to earn our way to heaven—our actions as Christians are a result of our salvation.  The work of God in our lives which is based on our faith results in our good works.
Romans 4:1-3  What then shall we say was gained by Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh?  For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God.  For what does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness."
