BEING A GRACIOUS GIFT RECIPIENT--A PASTOR'S WIFE'S PERSPECTIVE
We've all been the recipient of "that gift". You know the one where for a split second you wonder about the judgment, possibly the sanity, of the giver? One occasion at our family Christmas unknowingly created funny family lore when a well-meaning family member marked their wrapped presents by using initials. When my unsuspecting brother in law (who shares identical initials with me) unwrapped a Christian Fiction novel with some title incorporating words like 'Embrace' or 'Dreams' in the title, we all experienced intense awkwardness. We all admired his restraint and decorum in working up a hardy dose of gratitude. The giver then snatched the gift from his hands and handed it to me with a blush across her cheeks.Read more ...

The Most Sobering Reality...Is 5 Feet Away
A man I respect greatly often says, "The most sobering reality in the world today is that people are dying and going to hell today." I affirm this statement, but like so many creeds, statements, and rallying cries that we believe, it affects me much less than it should.
